Sharon Collinge
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist (accredited by the British Psychological Society), based in Oxford. I work with adults, students, children and older adults on an individual basis. Clients come to me with a number of issues including depression, stress, bereavement, eating disorders, self-harm, abuse, bullying, anger management and sexuality among many others. I work both on a long term or short term basis. Counselling can help individuals explore difficult feelings and relationships and help them discover and clarify ways for living more satisfyingly and resourcefully. It can help individuals cope with painful life experiences in a confidential setting. A Counselling Psychologist is a counsellor who has initial training in psychology, and who uses psychological methods and models in their approach. I work integratively (using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and person-centred approach).
I am also a Clinical Hypnotherapist (National Council for Hypnotherapy) - I work with many issues including insomnia, disordered eating, phobias, smoking, weight loss, stress and anxiety.
My qualifications include a BSc Hons (Oxford 1996), Diploma in Advanced Studies of Psychology (Oxford 1997), Post-graduate Diploma in Psychological Counselling (Roehampton 1999), MSc in Counselling Psychology (Surrey 2001), Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis (Psychotherapy & Hypnosis Training Assoc. (PHTA) 2004), Certificate as Practitioner of Meridian Therapies (EFT) (PHTA 2004), Diploma in Practitioner Skills for Eating Disorders (The National Centre for Eating Disorders, 2004).
